The Day before the Fifth of July

We decided the Fourth in Boston would be too crazy with the kids, so we drove to Portland, Maine, and found the Wadsworth-Longfellow house where we listened to a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Very inspiring. We visited some lighthouses and ended up at York Beach where we swam and caught tiny hermit crabs in a sand-bucket. We ended the night lighting fireworks with our neighbors. Legal fireworks here rock--lots of aerials and explosives. One of my "Freaky Friday" light shows launched towards us and exploded on my neighbor's foot. It left some nice little blisters.

The frount steps of our new house.

Happy day after the 3rd of July! I love that picture of Griffy? And the one of Miles at the beach. I especially like Caleigh in the background striking her pose . . . vogue! The kids look really happy to be there, are you???

Happy July 7th. It looks like you had a great time on the 4th. I can't wait to come to New Hampshire and hit the beach with you all.
